the greatest and most noble of all solemnities

From our Pastor:
On this holy night, the Church keeps watch, celebrating the resurrection of Christ in the sacraments and awaiting his return in glory. It is the turning point of the Triduum, the Passover of the new covenant, which marks Christ's passage from death to life. Therefore, the Easter Vigil does not correspond to the usual Saturday evening Mass, not in time, length, or ritual, and its character is unique in the cycle of the liturgical year. We encourage you to celebrate the Easter Vigil with us and especially with those who have been preparing to become Catholics, because each of the components offers us a greater insight into salvation history.
The Elements and Parts of the Easter Vigil are:

I. Service of Light
Come and experience the flames of the Easter fire dispelling the darkness and lighting up the night. See the 2026 Paschal Candle which will serve as the pre-eminent symbol of the light of Christ in our Church for every baptism and funeral celebrated in the next year. Hear the Easter Proclamation which poetically captures the whole Easter mystery placed within the context of the economy of salvation.

II. Liturgy of the Word
Listen to God’s Word, in the recounting of the outstanding deeds of the history of salvation. These deeds are related in readings from the Old Testament chosen from the law and the prophets and readings from the New Testament, namely from the apostles and from the gospel. Here Christ meets us once again on our journey, opening our minds and hearts, and preparing us to share in the breaking of the bread and the drinking of the cup.
III. Liturgy of Baptism

Feel again the joys of your own baptism when we bless the new water and welcome our newest members into the Church.
IV. Liturgy of the Eucharist

Rejoice because despite how many times we have received holy communion in our life, tonight we are reminded about the preciousness of so great a mystery, which is the climax of initiation and the center of our Christian life.
Come and partake in the celebration of the greatest and most noble of all solemnities so as to better equip us to be more zealous followers of Jesus in this dark and broken world.
