Love One Another

unnamed (5).png

God is Love

Heavenly Father,

Help me to love You in all things.
Fill my heart with joy so that I may sing..

That love is patient, love is kind.
Through Jesus, love is what I'll find.
May everything I do be done in love
and make You happy in heaven above.

Amen.

What's love got to do with it? This very famous song title poses a philosophical question that many have tried to answer throughout history. We've focused on love - what is it, where does it come from, how does it work- in songs, in movies, and in books for years where a very simple answer exists. God is Love and it's in everything!

This video helps is a sweet and beautiful reflection from children as they share what they feel love is. It will serve as a great conversation starter with your own family to get them to reflect on what they think love is.

Our faith teaches us that there are different types of love described in biblical passages that help us to share this great gift from God. Did you know that?

The following article will help you to better understand the types of love that God has given to the world. It offers easy examples of how to also teach your children about these types of love and help them to grow in their love for God.

- Read 1 Corinthians 13: 3-13 as a family.

- Discuss all of the descriptions in the passage about what love is and is not.

- Create a Love Is... garland with the reflections from the members of your family about what they feel love and isn't. Using string and cutouts of hearts create a garland with your answers. Maybe love is the goodnight stories with mom or love is when dad helps with homework. Write as many as you can think of that show what love is like in your family.
